This pot is a great entry into the world of Gong-Fu tea. It’s fairly large so you don’t need a special set of small cups. The ceramic makes for easy clean up and allows for most kinds of looseleaf tea. The spout has a strainer built in to keep tea from stopping your pour.
This teapot is large for a Gong-Fu style pot. It’s approximately 3.5 inches tall and 3.25 inches wide (excluding the spout and handle). It holds approximately 7.5 ounces of water.
I strongly encourage the purchase of a pitcher with this pot. If you are brewing tea in the pot, you are going to want to completely pour out the water before the next infusion so the tea does not over brew.

Gaiwan simply means “Lidded Bowl.” This is a very popular method for brewing tea in the Gong-Fu style. It provides incredible control over your brewing while allowing you to watch the loose-leaf tea as it opens up with each infusion.
This gaiwan comes with a lid for the bowl as well as a saucer. It’s fairly large for a Gong-Fu style holding approximately 5 ounces of liquid and standing at 3.5 inches tall with lid and saucer. The diameter of the widest part of the bowl is 3.75 inches.
To avoid over brewing, we recommend to pair any gaiwan purchase with a serving pitcher.
